SDL International, the world leader in global information management solutions, today announced a worldwide tour reaching 51 cities on August 13-October 1 to educate the globalization community about the new TRADOS 7 products, the latest generation of the world’s best-selling desktop software for localization. Following the recent successful launch of TRADOS 7 products, users from global corporations, language service providers, and freelance professionals are invited to educational sessions conducted live in major cities around the globe to learn about the advanced features and new standards support available as part of TRADOS 7 products.

TRADOS 7 is one of the cornerstones of SDL global information management solutions, which optimize the globalization supply chain to accelerate delivery of product content to global markets.  This supply chain is a complex process that involves authoring, content management, localization, publishing and other tasks performed in different parts of the world and on different technology platforms.  TRADOS 7 integrates and streamlines the entire globalization supply chain to help global companies realize such benefits as faster time-to-market, increased customer satisfaction, consistent multinational branding, and reduced localization costs.

“We are committed to unifying the globalization supply chain and understand that this requires more than new technology,” explained Keith Laska, Vice President of Desktop Technology, SDL International.  “We also need to change how people manage global information and educate them on new technology and best practices.  No other company in our industry has the resources to conduct such an ambitious tour to improve how the participants in the supply chain work together.”

The TRADOS 7 tour is a unique opportunity for SDL to get closer to its customers who are located all over the world, from major cities, such as London, Tokyo, and New York, to less-urban locations, such as Whitehorse in Canada’s Northern Territories and Papeete in French Polynesia.  There are TRADOS 7 customers in every corner of the world because far more people use TRADOS 7 products for globalization and localization than any other, with many customers using TRADOS products for twenty years.  By bringing hands-on training as close to the globalization community as possible, SDL enables users to fully leverage the new TRADOS 7 solutions in their individual work as well as participating in the acceleration of the entire globalization supply chain.

TRADOS 7 products provide more than 100 new innovations and customer-driven enhancements that enable users to perform their globalization work much more rapidly while also increasing quality.  The global education tour will offer training, presentations and hands-on labs on using the new features in TRADOS 7, specifically Translator’s Workbench, TagEditor, WinAlign, and Term Workstation.

Cecilia Maldonado, president of IM Translation & Training, explained, “Many times, companies come out with new software, but don’t follow up on the training users need.  SDL knows that it takes both software and trained people to manage global information.  The TRADOS 7 tour is an innovative idea that we have not seen before in this industry.  We are proud to hold the first session of this worldwide tour in our city, Córdoba, as part of the fourth T & I Conference.”

With more than 40 stops in all continents except Antarctica, tour cities include Atlanta, Chicago, Miami, Salt Lake City, San Francisco, New York, and Washington DC in the United States; Montreal, Toronto, and Vancouver in Canada; Cordoba and Montevideo in South America; London, Brussels, and Paris in Europe; Tokyo in Asia, and Melbourne in Australia.  Sessions will last one day and include continental breakfast and lunch.  For more information and to signup for the tour, please visit www.trados.com/tour.
